Your Money. Your Unique Journey.

Stephen M. Spurrier’s passion is people – getting to know them and helping them pursue their personal financial goals.

After successfully partnering to building a financial services company in Towson between 2004 and 2019, Spurrier created his own practice, Old Orchard Wealth Solutions, in 2020.

The new firm, based in Hunt Valley, strives to build financial services into a family environment.

Old Orchard Wealth Solutions provides comprehensive financial strategies to a diverse range of clients, including businesses and individuals seeking all levels of financial planning.

A lifelong Baltimore resident, Spurrier’s career began in 1986 as an insurance advisor at National Life of Vermont. From 1988 to 1991, he served as a financial advisor for the Maryland Agency Financial Group in Towson, MD. He moved to First Financial Group in Towson, MD, as a financial advisor in 1991 and was the firm’s pension sales leader in 2003. For 15 years, beginning in 2004, he was a partner in Synergy Financial Group.

He has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Towson State University, earned in 1985, and he is a 1980 graduate of Calvert Hall College High School in Towson, Maryland. He added the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation in 2012. Spurrier is among those who earned the AIF® mark by successfully completing a specialized program on investment fiduciary standards of care and subsequently passed a comprehensive examination.

He is married to Laurie and has three children, Michael, Claire and Grace.

Spurrier remains extremely active in his community. At St. Pius X Church in Towson, MD, he has served as a sports coach, youth ministry team member, lector and chair of the Institutional Advancement Committee. As a percussionist, he participated in St. Pius’ “40 More Days,” music group. The Archdiocese of Baltimore honored Spurrier with the 2005 For God and Youth Award. In July 2007, Steve was a nominee for “The Community Leadership Award” through Invest in Others Charitable Foundation and Investment News. The award is presented to an advisor who is nominated for service as a volunteer board member or committee member and who has made an outstanding contribution of at least five years and served “with distinction”.

He remains active in NAMI (the National Alliance on Mental Illness) and Mammojam, a breast cancer awareness organization, and plays drums in a local band, Roses & Rust.

Spurrier is a registered representative and principal with securities offered through LPL Financial, member FINRA/SIPC.
