With a career spanning more than 40 years — including client-facing roles at PNC and
J.P. Morgan — Van brings deep experience in portfolio management and equity
analysis. His time at large institutions highlighted the limitations of traditional models,
where advice can be shaped by internal incentives, and led him to an independent
platform with LPL Financial and Old Orchard Wealth Solutions.
Van works closely with longtime partner Joe O'Rourke and a seasoned team at Old
Orchard, believing that education and collaboration drive better outcomes for clients.
Born and raised in the area, Van and his wife have called Hydes, Maryland home for
more than 30 years. Outside of work, he collects art, cacti, and clocks, and enjoys
drawing, painting, and framing art. His true passion, however, is boating — he has
restored one wooden classic and is currently refitting another.
